Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist
Jelisha Gatling is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who uses Narrative therapy with couples to assist them in sorting through relational concerns. Jelisha works collaboratively with couples to explore new healthy ways of reconnecting, repairing from betrayal, and getting "unstuck". Therapy will explore, process and release baggage that may be hindering you from a more fulfilling relationship. Jelisha assists couples in navigating concerns such as communication, infidelity & repair, intimacy, conflict resolution, cultural differences, and family transitions. She has a background in trauma-focused therapy which she blends with narrative and attachment theory.
With a background in creative arts as well, Jelisha weaves that artistic passion with knowledge of human experience as an added element into the therapeutic process. Jelisha collaborates with her clients to explore and create more preferred ways of experiencing their relationships and their partners.
Jelisha graduated from NC State University with a bachelors in psychology before completing her Masters in Marriage & Family Therapy at Mercy College in New York. She is an active board member in the New York Family & Marriage Network of the American Association of Marriage & Family Therapists.
